Matthew Stilwell

"Adventurer", "Sky-Captain", "Big Nerd". That's me. I'm in the biophysics program at the beautiful University of Wisconsin-Madison working in a microbiology lab. I'm originally from sunny Colorado, where I trained as a physicist and explorer (turns out it's hard to get a B.S. in Exploring and Adventuring). I enjoy being in and a part of nature and I greatly appreciate my time with family and friends. I love science and all sorts of nerdery (D&D anyone? Magic the Gathering anyone? ASOIAF anyone?). Yeah, on that last one, if you don't know what ASOIAF is, you're just going to have to look it up and start reading because it is AMAZING. Anyways, I forget where I was going with this, which is often how my stories end.

If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be OHMYGODSOAMAZINGWHATAPERSONTHATIS, from the Greek for "awesome". If I were to use several additional words, I would add that I am a biophysics PhD candidate who works in a microbiology lab at the delightful University of Wisconsin-Madison. I enjoy baking delicious goods. I enjoy eating them more. I've played piano for upwards of 12 years now, and I'm just good enough to impress the ladies. In between getting my butt kicked in aikido class, I read books, watch the geekiest television programs known to man, and procrastinate heartily in finishing my fantasy novel. I also started college when I was 11.
